ENDLESS SUMMER BBQ PROMOTION
OVERVIEW (NOT PART OF CONDITIONS)
Principal entry requirement: Entrants must, during the Entry Period, make a Qualifying
Purchase from a Woolworths supermarket anywhere in Australia, or from Woolworths
Homeshop (www.homeshop.com.au)
A Qualifying Purchase is the purchase, in one transaction, of any two Qualifying
Products (2 of the same product, or any combination). Each of the following products
is a Qualifying Product:
- a MASTERFOODS Table Sauce
- a MASTERFOODS Marinade
- a MASTERFOODS Relish
- a MASTERFOODS Mustard
- a MASTERFOODS Seasoning
- a PRAISE Salad Dressing
- a PRAISE Mayonnaise
- an INGHAMS 500g Turkey Mince
- an INGHAMS 500g Gourmet Italian Sausages
- a WOOLWORTHS 375g Satay Kebabs
- a WOOLWORTHS 500g Chicken Mince
- a WOOLWORTHS 375g Honey Soy Kebabs
- a WOOLWORTHS 750g Honey Soy Kebabs

Entry Period: opens at 9am on 4/1/10 and ends at 11.59pm on 12/2/10 (both AEDT)
Entry method: by SMS, internet or 1900 telephone.
Prize Pool: The following prizes are available to be won:
- One Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment Package valued at $10,345.75.
- 60 Weber Q 300 BBQs, each valued at $799.
- 200 Bar-B-Chef 18 Piece Stainless Steel Toolsets, each valued at $79.95.
Prize Pool Value: The total value of all prizes is $74,275.75.
Prize distribution: The prizes will be distributed as follows:
- A draw to award the Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment Package will be held at 3pm on
15/2/10 at Be.interactive, Level 9, 155 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000.
- 6 weekly draws will be held at Be.interactive, Level 9, 155 George Street, Sydney
NSW 2000. Each draw will be held at 3pm, the first on 11/1/10 and the last on 15/2/10.
10 Weber Q 300 BBQs will be awarded in each weekly draw.
- An instant win competition for the 200 Bar-B-Chef 18 Piece Stainless Steel Toolsets
will commence 9am on 4/1/10 and end at 11.59pm on 15/2/10 (both AEDT).
CONDITIONS
PARTICIPATION
- This competition (“Competition”) is conducted by Mars Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 48
008 454 313, trading as Mars Food Australia, of 4 Corella Close, Berkeley Vale NSW
2259 (“Promoter”).
- Entry to the Competition constitutes acceptance of these conditions. All entry instructions
and prize information published by the Promoter form part of these conditions.
- The Competition is only open to Eligible Entrants. An "Eligible Entrant" is an individual
who, at the time of entry: (i) is a resident of Australia aged 18 years or older;
(ii) is not an employee of the Promoter or any of its related corporations or any
of their agencies associated with the Competition; and (iii) is not a spouse, defacto
spouse, parent, child or sibling (whether full, half, step or by adoption) of such
an employee.
- Notwithstanding any other provision of these conditions, an Eligible Entrant is
not entitled to enter this Competition if he/she:
- wins, during any period of 12 months, in one or more competitions conducted by Mars
Australia Pty Ltd, prizes that are together valued at more than $5,000 (any such
12 month period being referred to as a "Winning Run"); and
- has received written notice from Mars Australia Pty Ltd stating that, as a result
of a Winning Run, he/she may be ineligible to enter competitions conducted by Mars
Australia Pty Ltd for a further period of 12 months ("Exclusion Period").
- For the purposes of condition 4(i), the date on which a prize is won is the date
on which the Eligible Entrant is first notified in writing that he/she is a winner
of that prize or, in the absence of such notice, the date on which the prize is
actually supplied to the entrant. For the purposes of condition 4(ii), any Exclusion
Period commences on the date an Eligible Entrant's most recent Winning Run ended.
- Competition entry opens at 9am on 4/1/10 and closes at 11.59pm on 12/2/10 ("Entry
Period"). All times and dates are times and dates in Sydney which may be AEST or
AEDT depending on the date.
ENTRY
- To enter, an Eligible Entrant must, during the Entry Period, make a Qualifying
Purchase from a Woolworths supermarket anywhere in Australia, or from Woolworths
Homeshop (www.homeshop.com.au). A Qualifying Purchase is the purchase, in one transaction,
of any two Qualifying Products (2 of the same product, or any combination). Each
of the following products is a Qualifying Product:
- a MASTERFOODS Table Sauce
- a MASTERFOODS Marinade
- a MASTERFOODS Relish
- a MASTERFOODS Mustard
- a MASTERFOODS Seasoning
- a PRAISE Salad Dressing
- a PRAISE Mayonnaise
- an INGHAMS 500g Turkey Mince

- Subject to the other conditions, an Eligible Entrant may enter the Competition once
for every Qualifying Purchase that they make during the Entry Period.
- Entry can only be made by internet (“Internet Entry”), SMS (“SMS Entry”),
or 1900 telephone call (“1900 Entry”):
- To submit an Internet Entry, an entrant must use a compatible browser to visit www.masterfoodspromos.com.au
("Competition Website") and follow the directions there. For each entry, the entrant
must provide: (a) the barcode from each of the two products in their Qualifying
Purchase that are being used to enter; and (b) (i) if the Qualifying Purchase was
made from a Woolworths supermarket, the number of the Woolworths receipt issued
when the two Promotion Products were purchased OR (ii) if the Qualifying Purchase
was made from Woolworths Homeshop, the number of Woolworths Homeshop order in which
the the two Promotion Products were ordered; and (c) all other details required
at the Competition Website, including first and last names, email address and residential
street address.
- To submit an SMS Entry, an entrant must send an SMS message to 1998 8833 comprising
in the following order with a space between each item: (a) the entrant's first name;
(b) the entrant's last name; (c) the entrant's residential street address, including
post code; and (d) the first 6-digits of the barcode from each of the two products
in their Qualifying Purchase that are being used to enter. The entrant must use
a mobile phone and service with the ability to send SMS messages to premium numbers.
Each entry must be sent in a separate SMS.
- To submit a 1900 Entry, an entrant must use a tone dialling phone service to call
1900 933 533 and answer the questions posed. For each entry, the entrant must provide:
(a) the first 6-digits of the barcode from each of the two products in their Qualifying
Purchase that are being used to enter; (b) the entrant's first name; (c) the entrant's
last name; (d) the entrant's residential street address, including post code; and
(e) the entrant's telephone number. (PO Box and private box addresses are not residential
street addresses).
- All entrants must ensure that their entries are received by the Promoter during
the Entry Period. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any late or misdirected
entry or for any delays or failures in any telecommunications service or equipment.
- For each and every Qualifying Purchase that an Eligible Entrant uses to submit an
entry, he/she MUST retain the receipt (or a photocopy of it) from the purchase of
the products comprising the Qualifying Purchase that is issued during the Entry
Period: (a) (i) by the Woolworths supermarket from which the products were purchased,
if the products were purchased from a Woolworths supermarket, or (ii) by Woolworths
Homeshop, if the products were purchased from Woolworths Homeshop; and (b) lists
each product in the Qualifying Purchase as an item purchased.
- All entries to the Competition may be subject to verification by the
Promoter at any time. The Promoter will reimburse an entrant for any reasonable
costs incurred in complying with this condition.
- An entrant MUST, within 7 days of being asked, deliver to the Promoter (by a means
determined by the Promoter) all of the items which condition 11 requires the entrant
to retain and which are requested by the Promoter. The Promoter may elect not to
return those items.
- An entrant MUST also deliver to the Promoter (by a means determined by the Promoter)
copies of any other documents the Promoter may request establishing eligibility
to enter or win, including evidence of age, residence or identity. The Promoter
may make one or more requests for such documents. Once the identity of documents
available is established, an entrant must deliver requested copies within 7 days
of being asked to do so. At the Promoter's request, an entrant MUST also, within
7 days of being asked, allow the Promoter to inspect and copy the original of any
such document.
- The Promoter may, at its absolute discretion, declare any or all entries made by
an entrant invalid if the entrant: (i) fails to establish their entitlement to enter
the Competition to the Promoter's reasonable satisfaction; (ii) fails to produce
items as required by condition 12 or produces items that, in the Promoter's reasonable
opinion, are illegible, stolen, forged, reconstructed, altered, incomplete or tampered
with in any way; (iii) fails to notify the Promoter of any Prize Claim Number issued
to the entrant (see conditions 26 to 28); (iv) in the Promoter's reasonable opinion,
tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering; or (v) in the Promoter's
reasonable opinion, submits an entry which is not in accordance with these conditions
or is inaudible, incomprehensible or illegible.
- An entry by more than one person (ie a joint entry) is invalid.
INTERNET ENTRIES
- On any one day: (i) an Eligible Entrant may submit no more than 3 Internet
Entries; and (ii) no more than 3 Internet Entries will be accepted containing the
same e-mail address.
- In total: (i) an Eligible Entrant may submit no more than 30 Internet Entries; and
(ii) no more than 30 Internet Entries will be accepted containing the same e-mail
address.
- Any costs associated with accessing the Competition Website are the responsibility
of the person seeking access and are dependent on the internet service provider
used.
- Eligible Entrants must make their Internet entries manually using an internet browser.
The Promoter may reject Internet entries if it reasonably forms the opinion that
they have been entered using automated entry means or by use of a competition entry
service.
SMS ENTRIES
- Each SMS will cost 55 cents (including GST) to send, as the SMS service
is a premium service.
- The Promoter will only accept SMS entries submitted manually using a mobile phone.
The Promoter may reject SMS entries if it reasonably forms the opinion that they
have been entered using other entry means, including the internet or automated means.
- An SMS in reply may be sent to the mobile phone sending each entry. The reply SMS
will state that the entry is rejected if either of the sets of barcode digits are
invalid. If the entrant resubmits a rejected entry, the entrant will incur another
SMS charge. The time to receive a reply may vary and receipt is subject to network
coverage and availability, memory inside the sending mobile phone not being full
and any other technical problems.
- For winning SMS entries, the person entitled to the relevant prize is the person
who was entitled to use the mobile phone at the time the winning entry was sent
and who can produce the items required to be produced by condition 11. If more than
one person claims to meet these requirements and claims the prize, the Promoter
will have the sole discretion to determine which of those persons is the winning
entrant.
1900 ENTRIES
- For 1900 Entry, the cost of each call from a private fixed line phone
is 55 cents. Costs may be higher from public or mobile phones.
INSTANT WIN AND PRIZES
- 200 instant win prizes (each an "Instant Win Prize") are available to
be won instantly during the Entry Period. Each Instant Win Prize is a Bar-B-Chef
18 Piece Stainless Steel Toolset valued at $79.95.
- 200 entries during the Entry Period will be randomly allocated a provisional Instant
Win Prize (“Instant Prize”). For each Instant Prize, eligible entries that are valid,
and are received by the Promoter during the Entry Period, will be considered equally
in the Instant Win prize allocation process.
- Entrants that are provisionally awarded Instant Prizes (each a “Provisional Instant
Win Prize Winner”) will be issued a 6 digit unique prize claim number (“Prize Claim
Number”).
- The Prize Claim Number:
- will be issued; (a) in the same browser session, if the entry is an Internet Entry;
(b) by return SMS, if the entry is an SMS Entry; or (c) in same phone call, if the
entry is an 1900 Entry, and
- must be recorded by the entrant for entry verification purposes.
- A Provisional Instant Win Prize Winner MUST, if requested by the Promoter, provide
their Prize Claim Number.
- If, at the end of the Entry Period, any Instant Win Prizes have not been won, they
will be awarded in a second chance draw from all entries, except entries that have
already won a prize. This draw will commence at 3.02pm on 15/2/10 at Be.interactive,
Level 9, 155 George St, The Rocks, NSW 2000.
- This condition only applies to Instant Win Prize claims that are made by residents
of NSW or Victoria, or are made by persons who purchased a Promotion Product in
NSW or Victoria: (i) unless due to fraud or ineligibility under these conditions,
all Instant Win Prize claims in excess of the number advertised as available (but
otherwise in accordance with these conditions) will be honoured; and (ii) printing
and other quality control errors outside the control of Eligible Entrants will not
be used as the sole basis for refusing to honour an Instant Win Prize claim.
PERIODIC DRAWS AND PRIZES
- There will be six periodic draws, one for each of the periods of time
indicated in the table below (each a “Weekly Draw”). Each entry that is received
during any of those periods will be allocated to the draw for that period. An entry
received exactly at the time any period commences will be allocated to the time
period that is just commencing (and not the period that has just ended).

- In each Weekly Draw, the Eligible Entrants who submitted the first 10 valid entries
drawn will each win one Weber Q 300 BBQ, valued at $799.
- Entries into one Weekly Draw that do not win a prize will not be included in any
subsequent Weekly Draw.
- 34. The Weekly Draws will be held at Be.interactive, Level 9, 155 George Street,

MAJOR PRIZE DRAW AND PRIZE
- The draw to award the Major Prize will be held at 3.05pm on 15/2/10 at
Be.interactive, Level 9, 155 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000.
- The Eligible Entrant who submitted the first valid entry drawn in this draw will
win one Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment Package (“Major Prize”), valued at $10,345.75.
- The Major Prize comprises one of each of the following:
- Turbo Elite 5 Island BBQ with Fridge, Sink, Table & returns,
- Bar-B-Chef drip tray enamel,
- Bar-B-Chef Fisharoo grill basket,
- Bar-B-Chef roast rack,
- Bar-B-Chef shish kebab set,
- Bar-B-Chef 18 piece Stainless Steel toolset,
- Vesna 9 Piece (Kalahari) outdoor furniture setting (Table and 8 chairs), and
- $500 Barbeques Galore Voucher.
- The Barbeques Galore Voucher:
- is issued by Barbeques Galore Pty Limited ABN 92 008 577 759 (“Barbeques Galore”)
subject to such conditions as may be imposed by Barbeques Galore from time to time
(“Conditions”);
- can, subject to the Conditions, be redeemed for up to $500 worth of goods from any
Australian Barbeques Galore store;
- cannot be redeemed for cash; and
- expires 12 months after its date of issue.
PRIZES GENERALLY
- The total value of all prizes is $74,275.75.
- Each prize is valued as at 8/10/09. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any
variations in value of a prize.
- If a prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter will,
in its absolute discretion, substitute alternative goods or services of no lesser
retail value and/or specification, subject to the approval of the authorities that
have issued permits for the conduct of the Competition. The Promoter accepts no
other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by a winner or any other
party if a prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason.
- A right to receive a prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken
as a monetary payment.
- Unless expressly stated in these conditions, all expenses incurred in relation to
enjoyment of a prize are the responsibility of the winner.
WINNERS
- Each winner will be notified in writing which will be:
- sent by e-mail to the e-mail address indicated in their winning entry, if it was
an Internet Entry;
- sent by SMS to the mobile phone number from which their winning entry was sent,
if it was an SMS Entry;
- posted to the address indicated in their winning entry, if it was a 1900 Entry.
The notification may include instructions as to how the winner is to claim the prize
and establish his/her entitlement to it.
- The name of each winner in a Weekly Draw will be published in The Australian on
the date indicated in the table below.

- The name of the Major Prize winner will be published in The Australian on 23/2/10.
- Subject, where relevant, to any directions given under the legislation regulating
the Competition, if any prize is not claimed by a winner by 17/5/10, the prize will
be awarded to another Eligible Entrant in a redraw for that prize commencing at
3pm on 31/5/10 at Be.interactive, Level 9, 155 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000. If
there is a redraw, the name of each winner in the redraw who is awarded a prize
over the value of $250 will be published in The Australian on 15/6/10.
- In order to be entitled to any prize, each winner must, if requested by the Promoter,
agree to and sign:
- an eligibility form confirming their compliance with the Conditions and eligibility
to accept the prize; and
- a liability release, waiver and/or indemnity in favour of the Promoter and/or any
person or other entity associated with this Competition.
A winner who does not comply with this condition forfeits their prize.
GENERAL
- If for any reason the conduct or operation of the Competition is interfered
with or disrupted in any way by a cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter]
(including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest,
strikes, tampering, [computer bugs or viruses or technical failures), the Promoter
reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or recommence the Competition,
subject to the approval of the authorities that have issued permits for its conduct.
- The Promoter assumes no responsibility for: (i) any error, omission, interruption,
or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication including any SMS
communication sent to (or by) the Promoter or any entrant whether caused by problems
with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or internet service
providers, congestion on any carrier network or otherwise, (ii) any theft, destruction
or unauthorized access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem
with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for
the conduct of the Competition.
- CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON ANY WEBSITE
ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROMOTION, TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO OR TO INTERFERE WITH THE FUNCTIONING
OF THE SMS OR TELEPHONE PROCESSES, OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE
OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. THE
PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW
IN THE EVENT THAT ANY SUCH ATTEMPT IS MADE, WHETHER OR NOT THAT ATTEMPT RESULTS
IN ANY SUCH DAMAGE, INTERFERENCE OR UNDERMINING.
- All of the Promoter’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered
into.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax liability incurred as a result
of an entrant participating in the Competition. Entrants should obtain independent
tax and financial advice.
- To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies and
agencies and all those entities' personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all
liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which
is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant in connection with the Competition
or prizes, including: (i) any indirect, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any
loss arising from the negligence of a Relevant Party; (iii) any liability for personal
injury or death.
- If any provision of these conditions is unenforceable for any reason, it will be
severed and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
- Each winner consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice
(including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in any media at any time
or times without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Competition, the
Promoter and/or any of the Promoter's products.
- Entrants' personal information will be collected by or on behalf of the Promoter
to enable it to administer the Competition and publicise its winner(s) and, if an
entrant consents, may be used to market its products to the entrant. The personal
information of each winner may be provided to others assisting in the conduct of
the Competition, including the Competition administrator, prize suppliers and deliverers,
and to regulatory authorities. Persons may contact the Promoter by post at the address
stated in condition 1 or by calling 1800 816 016 during business hours to request
access to, or corrections of, any of their collected personal information that is
held by the Promoter. If an entrant does not provide accurate personal information
the Promoter may determine that they are not eligible to win a prize.
